The past three and a half years have been incredibly exciting as we have moved the needle in making Strathcona County a better place to live.
Through many challenges, whether they be the COVID-19 pandemic, the explosion at County Hall in 2018, or economic challenges, I have had the honour of working for the people of Sherwood Park's Ward One in making our community the best it can be. I still believe that together we can make Strathcona County into Canada's Most Livable Community.
I am running for re-election in Ward One because our community is undergoing remarkable changes; economically, environmentally, and demographically. These changes are both a challenge and an opportunity and I am running again because I want to continue to tackle these challenges as your voice on Council. I want to champion the resiliency we have seen over these past two years, and continue to build the best community for today and tomorrow.
It has been a pleasure to work with my colleagues on Council as we have built a strong and cohesive team that will disagree on issues without being disagreeable with each other. I believe in bringing people together for meaningful conversations and developing solutions together.
I believe that we should all feel respected, safe and welcomed in Sherwood Park and we must continue to build a community that we are proud to call home. Strathcona County is built on hard work, determination, taking risks, and entrepreneurial spirit. For Strathcona County to reach its full economic potential, we must create an environment where residents, businesses, and entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged.
Sherwood Park's Ward One is a vibrant and dynamic community with great neighbourhoods and dynamic spaces that has something to offer to everyone. We must continue to grow as an economically, environmentally, and sustainable community where efficiency is embraced and accessibility is a way of life.
Sherwood Park must remain a place that represents opportunity, but it must be prepared to continue to improve in order to become Canada's Most Livable Community. I am running for re-election in Ward One because I want to help create the kind of place that empowers all of us to contribute to our community.
I look forward to meeting you and talking about what you want to see in Sherwood Park's Ward One in the coming weeks, months and years.
